Freedom is precarious…….

Freedom, the book [by Geoff Dyer] says, is precarious, it must be won every day and can only be found through constant renewal. It is never held but chased under the lengthening shadows of habit and fear.

  1. How weird is that! I just finished writing a chapter about an American Coup d’Etat. My last line was: Freedom is precious, which is how I initially read your [Geoff Dyer’s] quote. But I agree it is also precarious.

P.S I’m sure you’re all champing at the bit to know: the book is called The Stone Foundation, the 3rd book of the Stone Trilogy. Look me up on Amazon.

  2. Freedom is often sold as a selfish concept — the freedom to do whatever you want — when in fact it has more to do with respecting the needs of others. It is more about giving than receiving.
