The increase before rebates is 17.0% according to the ABS.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.incrediblecharts.com\/images\/2024\/2024-04-24-aus-electricity.png?resize=525%2C275&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Australian CPI - Electricity\" width=\"525\" height=\"275\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alex Joiner from IFM Investors shows the Sticky Inflation rate for Australia, calculated using the Atlanta Fed methodology, is at a similar rate to non-tradable inflation:<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.incrediblecharts.com\/images\/2024\/2024-04-24-aus-sticky.png?resize=525%2C471&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Australian CPI - Sticky Inflation\" width=\"525\" height=\"471\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>Prospects of rate cuts from the RBA in 2024 are fading. Long-term government bond rates jumped on release of the report, with the 10-year AGB yield rising to 4.38%.
