Testing primary support at $15.50\/15.60 per ounce, breach would warn of a primary down-trend. <\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Silver\" alt=\"Silver\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.incrediblecharts.com\/images\/2017\/2017-07-07-silver.png?w=525&#038;ssl=1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have been bullish on gold since the election of Donald Trump as president. My comment last week was: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Let me put it this way: recovery of gold above $1250 would not be a surprise. And would test resistance at $1300&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Gold is trending lower, breach of $1215 warning of a test of primary support at $1200.<\/p>\n<p>From a fundamental viewpoint, I can find no strong argument to support a lower gold price:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Dollar is falling<\/li>\n<li>Long-term interest rates are soft<\/li>\n<li>Trump&#8217;s behavior is often erratic<\/li>\n<li>North Korea successfully test-launched an ICBM, with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson warning there would <a href=\"https:\/\/goldstocksforex.wordpress.com\/2017\/07\/07\/tillerson-not-many-good-north-korea-options-reuters\/\">not be many good options left on North Korea if the peaceful pressure campaign failed<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So I remain bullish on the long-term outlook for gold. But a peak below zero on Twiggs Trend Index warns of weakness. Breach of primary support at $1200 would mean that all bets are off.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Spot Gold\" alt=\"Spot Gold\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.incrediblecharts.com\/images\/2017\/2017-07-07-gold.png?w=525&#038;ssl=1\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dollar Index is in a primary down-trend.
