{"id":14673,"date":"2016-12-14T18:16:11","date_gmt":"2016-12-14T23:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goldstocksforex.com\/?p=14673"},"modified":"2016-12-14T18:16:11","modified_gmt":"2016-12-14T23:16:11","slug":"fed-raises-rates-anticipates-3-increases-in-2017-wsj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepatientinvestor.com\/index.php\/2016\/12\/14\/fed-raises-rates-anticipates-3-increases-in-2017-wsj\/","title":{"rendered":"Fed Raises Rates, Anticipates 3 Increases in 2017 | WSJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Harriet Torry at WSJ:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Federal Reserve said it would raise its benchmark short-term interest rate for the first time in a year and expects to lift it faster than previously projected in the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>Fed officials said they would nudge up the federal-funds rate by a quarter percentage point on Thursday, to between 0.50% and 0.75%, a move that could cause other household and business borrowing costs to rise as well.<\/p>\n<p>They also indicated they see a brightening economic outlook and expect to raise short-term rates next year by another 0.75 percentage point&#8211;likely in three quarter-point moves.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/fed-raises-rates-for-first-time-in-2016-anticipates-3-increases-in-2017-1481742086?mod=djemalertMARKET\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thepatientinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/og-aj251_201612_d_20161213123537.jpg?w=525&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t read too much into further rate rises at present. Rates will only be raised if the economy continues to grow. We are still in the &#8220;remove abnormally low rates&#8221; stage, which hopefully will take some froth out of the market.
